FAMILIES & YOUNG PEOPLE’S WORKER
Salary: £28,000 pa (depending on qualifications & experience)
Location: Bow Road Methodist Church, 1 Merchant Street, Bow, E3 4LY
Reports to: Superintendent Minister

In a response to the well-publicised issues of family breakdown in society generally and the Tower Hamlets borough specifically, the Circuit leadership has identified the need for a person to focus specifically on families and young people both within the four churches in the Circuit and the broader local community. The successful applicant will build on existing initiatives, identify and implement ways of strengthening relationships within and between families, design worship that engages all ages, interact with Christian and other local organisations that focus on the family and recruit and develop volunteers to work with families in the Circuit and the broader community.
The role will suit a person who is passionate about the importance of the family in the 21st century with experience in working with families and young people in both a church and a secular environment. They will have demonstrated an ability to build programmes engage all ages and nurture stronger relationships across generations and have a strong understanding of the Safeguarding implications of working within this environment. They will have an ability to work without significant direct supervision and to motivate and develop others with an interest in contributing to the building of family relationships.
· This is a full time/permanent appointment.
